A picture is worth 1000 word s

Between running a family of five, a photography business, and a part time job; there is not much time left to sit down and write about all the happenings of our adventures. So I will let the pictures do the talking ...Enjoy!

Merry Christmas!

Every year at the Beckstead Family party for as long as I can remember we've had a nativity with all the kids while grandma or grandpa tell the story of Christmas. I don't have to get dressed up anymore but now it's Brooks' turn :) This year he was a donkey!

On Christmas Eve we got Santa's cookies and milk ready for him and tucked Brooks into his nice warm bed :)

Santa brought lots of presents for Brooks!
And in the morning he couldn't wait to see what he got!

He got a lot of fun things! But he did notice that Santa didn't bring him a helicopter that flies in the house like he had wanted :(

Then we went to Grandma Trice's and Papa Terry's to open more gifts and play the Wii. Brooks loved it! He had a blast playin on the wii fit, there's a penguin game where you catch fish and try to balance on the iceberg but his favorite part was falling in the water!

Then we headed over to Grandma Shell's & Papa Tracy's where he made out like a bandit with lots of fun stuff!!

In pre-school Brooks made us this ornament for our tree, it was my favorite present! :)

Brooks Helps decorate

Saturday while I was at work, Brooks decided he wanted to help decorate for Christmas. Daddy didn't realize that Brooks was runnin rampant with a PERMANENT marker all over the walls!! He made sure to color in the light switch ever so nicely and every button on the dishwasher! He also colored on the couch pillows, the coffee table and the fireplace! Oh the joys of parenthood :) All I could do was laugh. Brandon's grandpa had some kind of a grease remover that helped smear it haha we tried the goo gone and magic eraser but nothing is really working, we're going to have to re-paint I just love that it's the 1st thing you see when you walk in the front door! You should have seen his face when he told me why he did it it was priceless. I asked him what pictures he drew, the top one is a square with lines in it...On the dishwasher..circles! And on the living room wall a robot! :)

Sincerely, Brooks

I thought I would post more of Brooks quotes:

"Oh, I like people to be old! Cuz they're really cute!"

"I'm not having this conversation anymore!"

"She's hot with her boobs up there"
(Victoria's Secret)

"Mommy, we should take this movie back to the store because it's old"
(while watching Snow White)

"You little stinker! You got it on my pants!"
(to his.....while going pee) haha

"If she's not gonna love me, I'm not gonna love her!"

"Did you know bees make connector? yeah that's honey"

"Mommy I'm brave when I go downstairs in the dark! If I see a monster I'll kick him in the fancies"

"I like it when you give me food!"
(I promise I feed him)

"I can't eat while the TV's not on!"

"But I didn't want to wash it! Now my hairs all soft :("

"Tell Santa I'm a great big boy and I only take out one toy at a time"

"I gave you those cuz I was sick of them"

"What are these? I want them to come out but there's no way to get them out"
(after discovering his family jewels)

It's a ?

We went to Fetal Foto and baby's legs were crossed. The ultrasound tech spent the whole time trying to get a good picture of the sex of the baby. She got a side view of the baby's bum and what looked like a boy part poking out. She said she was 90% sure it was a boy but gave me a free voucher to go back just to be positive. Brooks was a little disappointed he was sure he was getting a sister not a brother! So we spent the week getting used to the thought of having another boy and thinking of names! Then today I went back for my follow up and a different tech was working this time. She we looked at baby a little bit and then she paused it and said ok.. are you ready for this? ..YES! It's a girl she says. What?!? She spent the rest of the time getting different angles and we got a few CLEAR shots that she is a GIRL :) I didn't get any pics of the follow up visit but here are the pics we got from the 1st visit. She said that when baby's privates are forming they can swell and stick out and that's what the other tech had seen. But she was 100% sure that it's a girl! Brooks was right all along!
