A picture is worth 1000 word s

Between running a family of five, a photography business, and a part time job; there is not much time left to sit down and write about all the happenings of our adventures. So I will let the pictures do the talking ...Enjoy!

Brooks' SUPER 5th Birthday Party!

Wow! My baby is 5! I can't believe it's already here. He is so big now :) His sense of humor and smarts have become him. He can outwit pretty much anyone and always has something to say that can bring a smile to your face. He is one of the most intelligent children I know! He is already reading and doing math that even I have forgotten how to do ha :) I am so proud of him and very proud to be his Mommy! I wanted him to have a SUPER birthday for his big 5! So we planned a superhero party, Kevin designed the invitation, it looked so amazing! My aunt and uncle provided the delicious and adorable cake and I was busy making superhero masks for all the guests and outfits for Super Brooks and his trusty sidekick Paisley. Kevin also designed a Poster of Super Brooks that was used for the game of pin the mask on the hero, where the winner (Brooks' friend Ryan) won a handful of heroes action figures :) My mother in law was kind enough to let me use her cricket to make Brooks a super happy birthday banner and Brandon made super (fruity pebble) rice krispy treats for everyone. I attempted to make a 3 layer jello (Red, Yellow and Blue) But that didn't quite turn out haha! I found Brooks some superman shoes from that GAP that went perfect with his outfit so I had to get them :) I got just about everything done in time for the party. It was the day after we got home from Powell, so I tried to have everything done before we left. But I forgot outfits for Super Mom and Dad! So I ran to the store and threw together our shirts, they were awfully crooked but hey it worked. Then I looked outside and it was RAINING!!! WTH the weather hates me :( but I was going to be optimistic, it poured for a bit and then stopped. We held the party at my Grandma's. The plan was to set up in their beautiful backyard! I got there and began to set up and my grandma just kept hounding me that it was going to rain and that we should just set up under the cover of the carport! I did NOT want to do that, but she wouldn't let up so I just gave in. It was musty under there and didn't have quite the ambiance that I was hoping for!! It hardly sprinkled and was nice and cool out back. So I was a little disappointed and pictures didn't turn out like I wanted, with the shed door and siding in the background :( Plus the lighting was awful but Brooks had a good time and got lots of fun toys and gifts! Thanks to everyone who came and had fun with us! Brooks and I appreciate it! Brooks I hope your 5th Birthday was everything you hoped it would be! I LOVE YOU
